Shopify Collections

Shopify Collections are the platform's native product grouping feature. Every Shopify store can create two types: Manual Collections (hand-picked products) and Smart Collections (rule-based automatic inclusion). Collections appear as browsable pages on your storefront, typically linked from navigation menus. Each collection has its own URL, title, description, and image — making them valuable for SEO. Shopify supports up to 5,000 collections per store, with up to 5,000 products per collection. Collections power the primary browsing experience for most stores: shoppers navigate from homepage to collection to product to cart. The quality of your collections directly impacts your store's usability, discoverability, and sales performance.
